Tanusree Shankar Dance company – renowned dance troupe carrying the legacy of legendary dancer Uday Shankar, has come together with Orange Corp – a renowned multinational company, already making its presence in the global film market with its USA and Europe film co-productions, to bring to reality a global dance festival in honour of the memories of Ananda Shankar and Uday Shankar.

A spokesperson from Orange Corp has confirmed the same.

The journey will start from Kolkata and continue across the world.

“We are delighted to announce that Orange Corp and Tanusree Shankar are working together to make this vision into a grand reality,” said the spokesperson, also adding, “The ‘Udayananda World Heritage Dance Tour’ will showcase the magnificent dance performances of the troupe and will cover multiple countries.”

Orange Corp will be the presenters of this heritage tour and will put together its resources to make the presence felt among the diverse lovers of dance. It is worth mentioning here that Orange Corp has its presence in more than twenty-six countries, which makes this a strategic, one of its kind, alliance.

A prominent force in the dance fraternity having an alliance with the corporate world is something unheard of so far.

Tanusree Shankar wants to spread the dance style of Uday Shankar, along with the music of her late husband, Ananda Shankar. She has been working on the same for decades now. “We are a family that has always celebrated world class art. We want to show the world the legacy we carry and the other side of classical dance that our beloved country performs, which is loved by all ages, across the world.”

This will also mark the beginning of the celebration of 75th birth anniversary of Ananda Shankar.
