Adele breaks Grammy award, dedicates it to Beyonce

For Adele, Beyonce's 'Lemonade' was the album of the year as she felt it was monumental and soul bearing.

Mumbai: The Grammys 2017 has been termed as a showdown between Beyonce and Adele as the two singers were competing with each other in numerous award categories.

Though Beyonce dazzled with her performance, the night truly belonged to Adele, who took home a whopping five Grammys, including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year, upsetting the former, who was the crowd favourite.

However, Adele was gracious enough to dedicate the award to Beyonce, during her acceptance speech.

“I can’t accept this award because, for me, Beyonce, Lemonade was amazing. It was so monumental and so soul bearing. We saw another side of you that we don’t always get to see. We adore you, you are our light. The way you make me feel, and the way you make my black friends feel, is amazing. I love you so much, I always have and always will,” she said, teary-eyed, as an equally emotional Beyonce looked on.

The much adored singer also broke her Grammy into two, as she broke out giggling embarrassedly.
