The effects of smoking cannabis and using products derived from it are debated across the globe. Meanwhile there have been several reports of individuals claiming how cannabis has health benefits with one woman even saying that cannabis oil cured her tumour.

In a similar account, 70-year-old Carol Francey from Vancouver has credited smoking marijuana for her health after throwing away all her pills. She says that the habit helped her tackle arthritis, insomnia and sciatica while her medication took a toll on her balance and affected her speech.

The former drug and alcohol counsellor started campaigning for legalisation of marijuana after her son was held back in school for smoking cannabis. She grows marijuana in her garden and switched to marijuana after giving up on medicines and claims that it works wonders for arthritis, pain and sleep.

She inhales concentrated cannabis oil along with a healthy diet, yoga and meditation for staying fit in her old age. She also says that it helps keep anxiety away in day-to-day life.

Francey started smoking marijuana when she was 17 and has been doing so regularly for five decades.
