After Hyderabad, recently, Tirunelveli Collector Sandeep Nanduri converted a wall at the collectorate office compound into a ‘Wall of Kindness’. The collector said that the people could leave any items on the shelves that are attached to the wall. The ‘Wall of Kindness’ is painted in bright colors and also has a powerful message which reads, “Donate it, if you don’t need it! Take it, if you need!”

The wall invites people donate things which can be used by needy people and the collector went on to add that each household must be having several things in their cupboards which are unused and are being accumulated. He went on to add that if unused it’s better to help others by donating things.

According to Tirunelveli Collector Sandeep Nanduri the reason he started the project there is because it is a place where a lot of people come, including petitioners and poor people and it might help them. The collector said that he hoped to create awareness among everyone and if the response was good then they would expand to other public areas as well.

The wall was inaugurated on July 24 and has already been received enthusiastically by residents of the area
