Post #MeToo allegations, Emraan Hashmi to let go of Cheat India director Soumik Sen?

Emraan Hashmi is currently shooting in Ladakh and reportedly doesn't know about the matter in talks.

Cheat India director Soumik Sen was recently accused of harassing an actress of his film by constantly asking her to do a web series on lesbian sex.

Post that, three other women came out in the actress’ support and one media professional Chandraye Sarkar has come forward to Mid-Day about taking strong action against him.

Sarkar says, "I don't understand why the producers are not taking the allegations seriously. Their statement is blasphemous and protects Soumik."

This however isn’t the first time that such a thing happens. Sarkar claimed that Sen sent her erotic passages in 2012, which she took to Gulaab Gang co-producer Anubhav Sinha, who in turn apologized and promised not to work with Soumik again.

"I was angry that Anubhav didn't act in time, but at least he said sorry now. Anubhav sent me a message saying he will never work with Soumik again. I respect him for the stand. Emraan Hashmi said he wants to clean the industry, then why is he hiding now? They are establishing that they are either accomplice to the matter or partaking in it," Sarkar mentioned.

An associate from the movie went on to tell the daily, "We will have to let Soumik go from the promotional leg of the film. Emraan was clear that he wouldn't tolerate any instance of harassment against women on his film. He wouldn't want to keep his ties with the perpetrator in this case."

Emraan Hashmi is currently shooting in Ladakh and reportedly doesn’t know about the matter in talks. Similarly, producer Atul Kasbekar too was supposedly travelling due to which he couldn’t respond.
