Dabang Mumbai face uphill task against Rays
Winless Dabang Mumbai will be desperate to notch their first win of the season but they will have their task cut out when they face Ranchi Rays in their Hockey India League match here on Wednesday.
The defending champions Ranchi, who have won four out of their five games, will look to consolidate their position at the top of the standings.
The hosts are at the bottom of the table after losing close encounters giving away field goals in the dying minutes of the game.
Another area Mumbai will have to improve will be the penalty conversion rate. Even coach Jason Stacy voiced concerns over his team’s inability to convert corners into goals. “Missing so many penalty corners has been the difference in the match. We have to get better,” he said after their defeat to Kalinga Lancers.
Meanwhile, Ranchi, with their current form and the strike force in the squad, will have to keep things simple and get the work done.
