Divya Kumar Favourite performance: Arijit Singh

Divya Kumar

Favourite performance: Arijit Singh

I was keen on watching Arijit Singh perform live. His concerts are a different trip altogether. He has a capability to make the songs which haven’t been sung by him as his own — which is why it is a treat to watch him. I almost wished that every song was sung by him. His concerts are an experience in itself and I think everybody should book a ticket when he performs live. Amit Trivedi is another artist who shouldn’t be missed since his music has so much soul. It’s a delight to watch him live. Divya Kumar is a playback singer

Mohammed Irfan Favourite album: Dil Se Dil Se is one of my most favourite albums. A. R. Rahman sir and Gulzar sahab have always given us gems, especially when it’s a Mani Ratnam film. The kind of sound Rahman sir created for this album is commendable. Be it the title track sung by Rahman sir himself or Satrangi Re by Sonu Nigam or Aye Ajnabi, each song leaves you awestruck — also the tight baseline in that song. This album in many ways made me aspire to become a musician. Mohammed Irfan is a singer

Rajniesh Duggall Favourite film: Rocky I love watching the Rocky series over and over. In fact, I have been a fan of the series since I was a kid. I find these stories very motivating and believe that it teaches a lot about life. The spirit to fight back just draws you in. Also I’m a firm believer that mind is our strongest muscle — Rocky teaches us that ever champion was once a contender who refused to give up. Rajniesh is an actor

Munmun Ghosh Favourite book: A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry One book I would recommend to everyone is Rohinton Mistry’s second novel, A Fine Balance. Set in “an unidentified city”, the story is set in the era of the Emergency. I believe that compassion sustains life and the book really made me look at beggars in a new light. After reading the book, I thought that every college should include this novel in their syllabus since it is important to develop compassion in today’s times. This remains one of the few books that touched me in recent times. Munmun Ghosh is an author

Kamlesh Rawat Favourite food: Bedai, a street food item in Agra I’m a great fan of the street fare from Agra. The bedai, which is a fried, puffy bread, much like kachori, served with a bowl of spicy green sabzi dotted with chunks of potato is my all time favourite. It is accompanied by piping hot jalebis. This is something which shouldn’t be missed when you visit Agra. Global Fusion at Andheri, Mumbai is currently one of the best multi-cuisine restaurants. For those who are into sushi, this joint serves some mean sushis. Kamlesh Rawat is an executive chef at the Grand Sarovar Premiere

Asha Negi Favourite TV show: Suits I am currently watching Suits, and have been hooked on right since the first episode. My favourite character on the show is Harvey Spector — his performance in the show is mind blowing and he has made the show his own. I also feel that after watching the episodes, it gives you a new perspective in life. The show has all ingredients of an entertaining watch. Asha is an actress
