The government is waiting for Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader Yasin Malik to return to India before taking any decision on revoking his passport. His Pakistan visa is valid until February 26. Sources said that on his arrival to India he may be subjected to sustained interrogation. Mr Malik recently shared the stage with Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed in Pakistan while protesting against Afzal Guru’s execution. “Malik will be subjected to sustained interrogation about his activities in Pakistan including his meeting with Saeed and other leaders who are inimical to India’s interests. If he does not provide satisfactory reply, then ministry of home affairs may recommend external affairs ministry to revoke his passport,” sources said. The limited validity passport was issued to Mr Malik after receiving a no objection certificate from Central security agencies, sources added. Mr Malik’s passport will expire March end while his month-long Pakistani visa is valid till February 26. Mr Malik’s hobnobbing with Saeed and indulging in political activities against India in Pakistan have not gone down well with the government, sources added. While participating in funeral prayers for Afzal held in Islamabad on Sunday, Malik called his hanging a “blot on Indian democracy”.
