Thiruvananthapuram: With the growing onion prices, searches on ‘onion’ have been increasing on Google from August reaching the peak on September 13, almost triple the regular searches made on onion. As per the data collected by Sixdegrees, a Delhi-based media research organisation, price was the most searched term related to onion. Vivek Paliwal of Sixdegrees told Deccan Chronicle it was difficult to give the exact number of searches on onion prices, as the data provided by Google is in 0-100 scale. Kerala has 57 points on searches on onion in the scale during the period which was more than triple in the case of normal months. However, search queries on onion have surpassed the number of queries made on inflation’ from Kerala region, Paliwal said. Searches made on onion are 50 percent more than on inflation, he said.
