The highest run-getter at the ACC’s Emerging Players Cup (U-23) at Singapore a couple of months ago, 21-year-old K.L Rahul is going through a purple patch in his fledging career. The season so far, has seen the Bengaluru lad amass runs on the domestic circuit too. On Thursday, in his innings of 46 which was studded with seven hits to the fence, the youngster showcased his potential, but later wished he had stayed longer to help his side. “I think we could have done better had I not got out. We had a good partnership. But Manpreet (Juneja) looks in good touch and we hope that he carries on and gets a big score. It is very important that we get good partnerships from here on,” said Rahul admitting that his dismissal was a result of a bad shot. The opener admitted that patience will be the key for India on the penultimate day, especially with the wicket being two-paced. “The wicket is up and down and not very easy to score runs. We have to be patient and spend more time at the crease. The more time you spend there makes it easier,” he assessed.
