Pair your neons right
Neon is the word for all fashionistas this year. Jewellery is big and bright along with clothes, shoes, bags, nail varnish — all are bleeding fluorescence. It’s a must-have for 2013. This monsoon neon coloured raincoats, umbrellas, gum boots and ballerinas are flooding the markets. One can pair neon earrings and belt with any colour. For instance, wear a neon-coloured neckpiece with your formal wear and you can rev up your officewear, however avoid wearing neon nail paint in a corporate set-up. Always avoid close shaded neons like a pink and orange together in clothes. Contrasting pink and yellow, green and orange work well for our Indian skin tones. Evening wear in neon colours like pink, orange, green, blue purple can be worn in dresses, gowns, blazers and pumps. If you are a creative personality, pair up three neons together in a complementary fashion, where visually they are not closely worn near each other. While pairing them if you are not too sure or confident, remember less is more and wear just one colour. Wearing busy printed pants or jumpers with neon colours is a complete blunder. Keeping the prints to a minimum will make it look nice and won’t be jarring.
