Anchors bemoaned the government’s inaction against increasing crime against women and police laxity and posed hysterical questions to discussants while calling the police “inept”, describing the situation as “out of control”, and even suggesting “iron fist versus iron will”. India was shaken and stirred after the brutal gangrape in the capital. At these times, it may be worth reminding ourselves of Kennedy’s famous words: “Ask not what your country can do for you: ask what you can do for your country.”
