The Supreme Court has given the go-ahead to Sunday’s BCCI AGM but with riders. N. Srinivasan can contest and get elected — in all probability he’s going to be — but will not be able to take charge until further orders from the apex court. Srinivasan, however, is as defiant as ever. “Nobody has stopped me from contesting elections and attending the AGM. Go through the observations made by the honourable Supreme Court, it clearly states that I have not been stopped from attending the AGM and I am also going to contest the election, why shall I not contest ” said Srinivasan. Srinivasan refused to speak about the court’s observation. “I am not going to make any comment on that issue and you are free to write whatever you feel like but write the truth,” he said. He, meanwhile, is mulling over making some changes in his team. While interim secretary Sanjay Patel may get a full term, there is a big question mark over whether Mumbai Cricket Association president Ravi Savant would continue as the treasurer. As of now there are some indications that Srinivasan might go in for a new treasurer who would replace Savant. It could be someone from South Zone which helped Srinivasan control the BCCI. The names of Andhra Cricket Association secretary Gokaraju Gangaraju and Kerala CA president T.C. Mathews are doing the rounds. According to sources, BCCI could approach Rahul Dravid to take over at the National Cricket Academy and reports suggest Anirudh Chaudhary of Haryana Cricket Association is in the fray to become IPL’s chairman, replacing Rajiv Shukla.
