Woman drugged, raped at Madina
Hyderabad: A 30-year-old married woman was, according to her complaint, drugged, raped and filmed by a textile shop owner’s son and his friends at Madina, near Charminar. The video clip was later uploaded on websites by the offenders. The incident occurred at Afzal’s Collections, a textile shop at Madina. The Charminar police on Wednesday arrested the two accused people — Md. Amjad, 40, a resident of Khilwat and son of Afzal’s Collections owner Afzal Hussain, and his friend Md. Faheem, 41 — in connection with the case. South Zone DCP Tarun Joshi confirmed that Amjad and Faheem have been arrested and the police are verifying if more people were involved and are looking at all angles. He said that the police have got access to the video clip and it is being verified. The woman, who is a relative of both the accused, used to visit Afzal’s Collections frequently. She said in her complaint that she was offered a drink by the accused. “After I came under the influence of the drug, he took me to the first floor of the textile shop and raped me.” The two accused threatened that they would kill her if she told anyone what had happened. When her parents and relatives came to know about the video clips, they approached the police. Charminar police has booked a case against the two men under IPC Section 376 (for rape), 506 (criminal intimidation), 500 (for defamation) and 67 of the IT Act. The investigation is progressing under the guidance of the south zone DCP.
