World’s longest egg chicken roll in offing
The custom-made one metric ton tava plate lies ready to host Kolkata’s attempt to make the world’s biggest, longest and heaviest “Egg Chicken Kati Roll” with assistance from chef Shaun Kenworthy and a group of 30 hotel management students. Conceptualised by IAM Institute of Hotel Management, the eight feet long hot kati roll which is likely to weigh around 120 kg will be the first such attempt to create a world record during the World Street Food Festival on January 5. “Kolkata is a city of foodies. We chose hot kati roll as it represents the street food of Kolkata. The attempt is not just to create the world record but to uphold the city’s love and spirit for street food,” chef Shaun Kenworthy said. Around 20 kg chicken, 400 eggs, 10 kg capsicum and 10 kg shredded onion will be stuffed inside the belly of this gigantic paratha made with 18 kg of flour. “Folding the paratha and rolling it with paper will be the daunting task for many but I am sure it will work fine,” Mr Kenworthy added.
