From Rocky S, Ken Ferns and others to a grand finale with Vikram Phadnavis, cutting edge fashion ruled the ramp at IBFW.
Sukriti and Akriti Grover enthralled with their destination bridal wear collection. Pushing the envelope in their forte, which is Indian festive wear, the ethnic and stylish collection with the imaginatively put together ensembles stunned and are sure to be popular with the swish set. Showstopper Evelyn Sharma added the WOW factor, looking resplendent in one of their ethereal creations.
A master at marrying the traditional with the contemporary, Anand Kabra’s skill shone through with his fabulous destination wedding collection at Como India Beach Fashion Week 2017. Comprising mainly of festive separates, with jackets, crop tops, skirts and anarkalis. He didn’t disappoint, but raised the bar with his vintage embroidery and prints in fabrics like chanderi, satin, georgette and silk. The layered silhouettes almost seemed to float and added an ethereal touch in ivory, black, red, ink and chartreuse.
Contemporary and modern, Rocky S seduced with his modernistic, embellished approach. Unapologetically contemporary, the Rocky S Vida Collection kept all eyes glued to the ramp. Influences and traces of the baroque and gothic time periods with dramatic silhouettes and decorative prints for evening resort wear were a runway hit with the audience. His designs did not fail to delight, whilst keeping the fabrics light, easy to pack, edgy and modern. Day or night, eclectic and breezy, each garment was a stunning creation. Esha Gupta added to the glamour with a superbly fitted ensemble.

A self-confessed Goan at heart, his connection with the destination showed through with his bright colours and fluid garments. Flirty and fun, this wearable collection is certainly a ramp to rack one. Showstopper Gauhar Khan oozed attitude, as she walked the ramp in a svelte ensemble.
A fitting finale, Vikram Phadnis ruled the ramp with his showcase of his couture line, Destination Bride. It was destination wedding wear, in greys, blues and greens, colours of the sea and the sky. A collection inspired by nature, with embroidery in zardozi, kundan and pearl, there were sarees, shararas and lehengas, understated and chic. Showstopper Kiara Advani was resplendent in a stunning maroon creation.
