A zoo worker holds a baby panda at Malaysia Zoo in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The female panda which was born in the zoo five months ago and has not yet been named, made her first media appearance.

One of hundreds of roosters seized from a suspected illegal cockfighting site in Northampton, Mass., is caged at MSPCA's Nevins Farm in Methuen, Mass. Animal welfare officials say most of the roosters will have to be euthanized because they've been bred to be extremely aggressive and cannot be rehabilitated or retrained.

Wells Fire Department Capt. Jeff Nawfel rescues a dog that got stranded on a home's roof in Wells, Maine. Nawfel climbed a ladder to reach the dog. Nawfel was able to coax the canine back into the home after a couple wet kisses.

Three lion babies sit next to each other in their enclosure at the zoo in Frankfurt, Germany. The lion babies were born on April 14, 2018 and are from now on officially shown to the zoo visitors.

Two orphaned bear cubs have been placed in the care of the wildlife rescue park near the Grand Canyon after their mother was euthanized. The park said the 4-month-old black bears were rescued from a treetop in Arizona's White Mountains, and were so small a climber was able to lower them to safety in a backpack. The park says the Arizona Game and Fish Department was forced to euthanize the cubs' mother after twice removing her from a residential area in the town of Pinetop-Lakeside.
