New exclusive enclosure for turtles unveiled in zoo

Chennai: Arignar Anna zoological park at Vandalur on Friday dedicated a new exclusive enclosure for turtles. The old enclosure has been renovated with better amenities for turtles to swim and feed. More plants have been raised at the enclosure to provide a cool ambience for the amphibians and the visitors can watch these reptiles in close quarters, a press release from the zoo said. At present four types of turtles including Black Pond turtle, Tricarinate Hill turtle, rare Albino flap shelled turtle and Red Eared Slider varieties are kept at the enclosure, the release said. The enclosure has been designed to help turtles breed.
