When it comes to art, the more creative you get the more surprised you will be with the outcome. This is the mantra that keeps the MAD artist and host Harun Robert, aka Rob, discovering more in his journey of artistic expressions. The artist, who was in the capital for a Pogo channel art event for kids at Ansal Plaza, shared his arty ideas and quick tips with his young followers. Rob, who is a NID Ahmedabad graduate, loves to experiment with various recycled and waste objects. Talking about the products he uses for his creations, he says, “In my show I emphasise on using waste objects, so that kids learn the habit of recycle and reuse. In each episode we have a ‘big picture’ segment, where we create a scene or an installation using such objects. I think kids are the most honest audience one can have, because they follow everything very carefully and show interest in your work.” Speaking about the importance of art among young kids, Rob mentions, “Most parents these days want their kids to be good in studies, but creativity is also important. I tell most of the kids that drawing is not your talent, it is your skill; so even if you feel you are not good at it, don’t give up because you can always hone your skill. With designing and creating new things, kids learn to be constructive.” The artist reveals that in coming days he will soon start shooting for his next show Magic Skool, where he will be teaching magic tricks to the kids in interactive manner. He also hopes to finish his first graphic novel, which will be launched next year.
