ICC CWC'19: Sophie Choudry completely shuts down MS Dhoni's trollers
Mumbai: During the match against Bangladesh, MS Dhoni managed to score 35 runs from 33 balls. Dhoni helped India cross 300 despite losing wickets in quick succession after a flying start. However, Dhoni's inefficiency to hit boundaries and his denial to take singles in the final over had infuriated many fans.
MS Dhoni has drawn heavy flak from the fans and ex-cricketers for his "baffling innings" during India's defeat versus England. Dhoni refused to take two singles in the final over. Dhoni finally got out on the third ball of the 50th over. Many questioned his tactics, while his fans defended his approach.
But, Indian model and actress Sophie Choudry came out in support of the former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and had completely shut down all his critics with a be-fitting statement. On Twitter, Sophie explained why MS Dhoni refused to take singles and give the strike to Bhuvwaneshwar Kumar.
She provided the example of how both Mohammad Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave their wickets away to Bangladesh. She tweeted, "Shocked by the way fans are criticising #dhoni .. If you saw the way bhuvi lost his wicket as did Shami, you would understand why Dhoni probably wanted to keep the strike as much as possible!! Incidentally, he still managed to score more than the captain today."
