Mumbai: England would have recorded their highest-ever successful run chase in the World Cup history had they got the 14 runs. Unfortunately, the team had a bad start and lost wickets at quick intervals during the start.

Pakistan had already sent Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, Jonny Bairstow and Eoin Morgan back into the pavilion as they put 118 runs on the board all together.

Just when it looked Pakistan would win the easily, Joe Root and Jos Buttler put a 130 runs stand to put England back on track.

Root and Buttler both scored century but failed to ensure victory for the hosts. As soon as Pakistan sent Joe Root, all other batsman followed him continuously and ultimately England ended up at 334 for 9.
