Rishabh Pant takes wrong DRS call, fans compare him to Mahendra Singh Dhoni

Earlier, the young left-handed wicket-keeper batsman had failed to notice DRS chances against Mushfiqur Rahim, who was caught LBW twice.

Mumbai: During the first T20I against Bangladesh, young wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant failed to make a good impress yet again. The 22-year-old cricketer failed to do justice with the bat and gloves, and that too in the absence of India’s veteran wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

When India were defending a modest total of 149 against Bangladesh, the Delhi Capitals cricketer persuaded stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma to take Decision Review System (DRS) against Soumya Sarkar on the last ball of the 10th over, however, spinner Yuzvendra Chahal looked unconvinced with the appeal.

But, Pant seemed confident of a caught behind chance. Nevertheless, the Ultra edge showed a line graph without any spikes as the ball went past the wood.

Earlier, the young left-handed wicket-keeper batsman had failed to notice DRS chances against Mushfiqur Rahim, who was caught Leg before Wicket (LBW) twice.

Pant’s judgement call cost India the match as Mushfiqur Rahim scored a match-winning knock of 60 runs off 43 balls to guide Bangldesh to their first T20I win over India.

Following Pant’s poor judgement call, the netizens took to twitter and compared him to MSD.

With the bat too, Pant failed to impress as he managed to just 27 runs, second-highest knock for India after Shikhar Dhawan (41).
