Mumbai: Umpiring during the first Ashes Test has been a thing of concern; with umpire Joel Wilson being the chief-disruptor. There have been several occasions where the need for good umpiring was a must. In the 15 mistakes that were committed, 10 of those were of Wilson.
On day 5, he committed two errors. The first one came in the 13th over when Joe Root was wrongly declared lbw out. He took a review which came out in his favour. But all was not over when in the 17th over, Joe Root was given out again. But after taking review it was found out that Root had got a big inside edge.
So naturally, Twitter blasted Wilson away, with some famous people too getting in on the action.
