Watch: MS Dhoni pulls Kevin Pietersen's leg during RPSG vs MI IPL tie
Pune: While he is a man of few words, MS Dhoni, on Thursday, left everyone in splits with his wisecrack during the Rising Pune Supergiant versus Mumbai Indians game here.
Dhoni is a picture of concentration on the field but there was a departure when he decided to have a "go" at former IPL teammate Kevin Pietersen.
But the former India captain was in a mood to have some fun with Pietersen, who was on air during the IPL match between Rising Pune Supergiant and Mumbai Indians.
It was Manoj Tiwary at first slip, who was on microphone chatting with Pietersen when the former England captain said: “You are looking good, mate. Can you just do me a favour and can you just whisper in MS’ ear that I am a better golfer than him? Please.”
Tiwary, who was smiling after KP's comment, said: "I will do that after this ball."
"Thank you. Come on, you have got an opportunity now. Please tell him. Please tell him," Pietersen said.
Manoj was seen duly conveying the message to Dhoni after a delivery. "Bhaiya, Kevin Pietersen bol raha hain ke woh aapse better golfer hain (Kevin Pietersen is saying he is a better golfer than you)."
Dhoni leaned towards the microphone connected with Manoj and replied with a straight face: "He is still my first Test wicket!" Pietersen was heard laughing before he said: “It was a referral, it was a referral. Not out.”
“I’ll tell you what it’s wonderful when you get real good people on the mic. You got the players on there, you get some great stuff. Well done, mate. Love you,” added Pietersen.

So impressed was Pietersen with Dhoni's wit that he went on to tweet about the same after the conclusion of the RPSG vs MI game.
For the record, it was in reference to a few overs that Dhoni was forced to bowl his medium pacers during a Test match against England at Lord's back in 2011 after Zaheer Khan hobbled out with a torn hamstring.
Dhoni had trapped Pietersen leg before only to find being overruled by DRS.
Pietersen went onto score a double hundred as England won the Test match. Dhoni never bowled in Tests again.
He has a wicket in ODIs though – Travis Dowlin of West Indies during the Champions Trophy.
