Pakistan minister slams MS Dhoni for Army insignia on gloves
Mumbai: MS Dhoni grabbed all the headlines in India's World Cup 2019 opener against South Africa. Dhoni was sporting an Army insignia on his glove during the clash. It was well appreciated by his fans but the International Cricket Council requested BCCI to have the badge removed from the veteran's gloves.
The “Balidaan Badge” or the Army insignia was highlighted when Dhoni stumped Andile Phehlukwayo in the 40th over of the innings bowled by Yuzvendra Chahal. Dhoni received all the praise on social media but it did not go well with everyone. Fawad Chaudhry, Pakistan's Federal Minister for Science and Technology slammed Dhoni by expressing his rage through twitter.
“Dhoni is in England to play cricket not to for MahaBharta, what an idiotic debate in Indian Media, a section of Indian media is so obsessed with War they should be sent to Syria, Afghanistan Or Rawanda as mercenaries,” Fawad Chaudhry tweeted.

Dhoni was conferred an honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Regiment in 2011.
While there is a possibility that Dhoni may have worn these gloves with the dagger insignia earlier also, it did get a lot of traction on social media with fans loving his unique way of paying tribute to the armed forces.
