Mumbai set for Ranji milestone
Sachin picked the 2000 semi-final against Tamil Nadu as his best Ranji memory.
Mumbai: Mumbai will make history on Thursday when they take on Baroda in the Group C Ranji Trophy game at the Wankhede Stadium. They will become the first ever team to play 500 matches in the country’s premier domestic competition.
On Wednesday, Mumbai Cricket Association felicitated former captains including the likes of Madhav Apte, Sachin Tendulkar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Ajit Wadekar, Sudhir Naik and Sanjay Manjrekar.
Sachin termed Mumbai’s Ranji success as phenomenal. “To be precise, Mumbai have won 47 per cent of matches,” he said.
Sachin picked the 2000 semi-final against Tamil Nadu as his best Ranji memory. He scored an unbeaten 233, while chasing down a mammoth total of 485.
