Mumbai: The BCCI has officially announced the 15-member squad for the 2019 ICC cricket World Cup, which is slated to start in England and Wales on May 30.

It was already known that Virat Kohli would be leading India’s, while Rohit Sharma will be the deputy captain. However one surprising decision the apex cricket body of India took on April 15 was selecting experienced wicket-keeping-batsman Dinesh Karthik over promising, and aggressive Rishabh Pant.

Along with this, the BCCI also preferred KL Rahul, and Vijay Shankar over Ambati Rayudu for the number four slot.

As per an opinionated article, Sportskeeda states that as far as the bowling department is concerned, the selectors have picked up three fast bowlers who will be Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar and three spinners in Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Ravindra Jadeja.

India opens off their World Campaign on June 5 versus South Africa; following that match they face Australia on June 9. This year the Indian team is bringing so many match-winners.

And hence following the BCCI’s announcement we will look at three potential match-winners for India.

1. Rohit Sharma

When it comes to posting a huge total or chasing down a mammoth target, it’s utmost important that Rohit Sharma gets off to a good start. And once Rohit, the hitman gets started then there’s nothing he will stop at to ensure that India takes the match away from its opposition.

The vice captain of India is an important asset for Team India as during crucial situations – for instance while chasing a massive total India loses two wickets – Rohit turns himself into a calm and composed player, who anchors the innings, and also guides his partner. Rohit has the firepower to bring down the required run rate during early overs itself.

2. Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya is an important all-rounder for Team India. The 25-year-old all-rounder before returning to action, has worked hard enough on his batting efficiency.

Pandya, the Mumbai Indians Player, stirred a controversy by saying some misogynistic comments at the Koffee with Karan show, has put on efforts to improve his batting techniques especially when it comes to playing spinners.

Moreover, the Baroda player also can also prove to be vital especially during the death overs as he can hit big sixes at the end, and can produce beautiful outswingers. Lastly not to mention his fielding abilities, which is phenomenal.

3. Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah is India’s key to success. Because of Bumrah’s unique ability to deliver yorkers, and inswingers with the new ball, it’s was quite obvious that Bumrah will be included in India’s World Cup squad.

Recently, he also acquired the ability to throw deliveries which moves away from the right-handed batsman.

And especially during death overs very few comes close to bowling yorkers, and since he varies his length during the slog overs it’s hard to pick him up. Bumrah combined with Bhuvneshwar Kumar makes Indian bowling firm and solid.

The Indian team management must see that Bumrah gets enough rest before the World Cup by asking the Mumbai Indians to rest him during the last rounds of IPL.
