Yuvraj Singh predicts semi-finalists of ICC World Cup 2019
Mumbai: Since the commencement of World Cup 2019, the world has witnessed interesting encounters barring the rain playing a spoilsport in four games of the mega-event.
The competition has got stiffer for all the ten teams involved due to the Round-Robin format of the tournament. Indian-all rounder Yuvraj Singh, who recently retired from international cricket has shared his semi-finalists for the marquee event.
While speaking to ICC, Yuvraj stated," "I think we have a great chance. I definitely think, either it is going to be India or England (on the eventual winners). Australia definitely is right up there. West Indies is possible coming up as the fourth team (in the semifinals); West Indies or New Zealand."
"If you see how the World Cup is shaping up, I would say India or England. Pakistan also beat England, so it is getting very interesting," said the 37-year-old left-hander.
Talking about Yuvraj's picks, India and England are certainly regarded as favourites to clinch the trophy. Eoin Morgan-led England have lost just one encounter while India are undefeated in the mega-event.
Australia, led by Aaron Finch are also in the top four of the points table with three wins. West Indies and New Zealand will be contesting to seal their place in the top four spots of the points tally.
The biggest disappointment of the tournament, so far, have been Faf du Plessis-led South Africa. The Proteas are yet to win their first match of the tournament.
The semi-finals will commence from July 9, whereas the final is scheduled to take place on July 14 at Lord's.
