After losing four wickets in quick succession, Kiwis captain Kane Williamson showed his nerves of steel as he scored a gritty 106 from 138 balls to guide New Zealand home in a thrilling encounter versus South Africa at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

South Africa and New Zealand both had their share of moments as Kane Williamson got lucky to not be run out during the end. South Africa, on the other hand, took wickets during regular intervals to stay alive in the game, but the Proteas players missed crucial chances to defeat the Kiwis.

However, Twitter lauded the New Zealand captain for keeping his calm and nerves despite his side having lost four wickets. Williamson played a match-winning innings of 106 which saw his side get over the line. After his innings Twitterati hailed him as the ‘next Dhoni’.
