ICC CWC'19: Wasim Akram lashes out at Pakistan's poor cricket structure
Mumbai: Pakistan has had a bad form at the ongoing World Cup 2019. The team, having won only one match so far, is now standing ninth on the points table. The team is on the verge of elimination and desperately need to win the match against South Africa.
With their last defeat at the hands of India seeing the team in very bad form and facing heavy criticism from fans and experts alike, former fast bowler Wasim Akram has spoken out on the country’s poor cricket structure.
Akram targeted Pakistan’s first-class cricket, meanwhile lauding the Indian cricket structure. He added that only the first-class cricket players should be picked in the Pakistan Super League. “Enough is enough, only pick players in the PSL who have performed well in first-class cricket,” said Akram.
“Indian cricket invested everything in their first-class cricket over the years,” added Akram.
Akram also mentioned that Pakistan’s first-class cricket has been run by some random journalist for some odd reason and why for so many years,” he said.
