Ravindra Jadeja confident of doing well overseas

Ravindra Jadeja stressed that the team would seek to build on their impressive form, heading into 2017.

Bengaluru: Having wrapped up a convincing series win over England on Tuesday, India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja stressed that the team would seek to build on their impressive form, heading into 2017, and try to become a formidable force away from home.

“It’s been a good year for Indian cricket. We won a lot and hopefully we can continue the same positive performances next year as well. We did well in the West Indies so we are keen to improve our performance away from home to make Indians around the world proud. We promise to work hard for this,” said Jadeja. “We have a young and fit side. We put a lot of effort in the gym and we are ready to play in any condition. We are very positive bunch,” he added.

Jadeja, who has 375 runs and 43 wickets in nine Tests this year, returned a career-best figures of 7/48 on the last day of the final Test against England to propel his side to their ninth win in 12 Tests this year and stretch the Virat Kohli-led side’s unbeaten run to 18. He also finished with a match haul of 10 wickets.
