Mumbai: Wriddhiman Saha came up with an unbeaten ton to not only rescue Rest of India along with Cheteshwar Pujara but also put them in the driver’s seat in chase of 379 against Gujarat in the Irani Cup match at Brabourne Stadium here on Monday.

RoI finished the fourth day strongly at 266/4 in 84 overs just 113 runs shy of the daunting target. The partnership for the fifth wicket is already worth 203, with a calm Pujara batting on 83 in 181 balls with ten boundaries.

Saha who scored a duck in the first innings was the aggressor, picking up his side up after they were reduced to 63/4 in the 25th over. He notched up his hundred with straight boundary of Chintan Gaja of 157 balls after 183 minutes at the crease.

Scores: Gujarat 358 and 246 (P. Panchal 73, Chirag 70) vs RoI 226 and 266/4 (Pujara 83*, W. Saha 123*)
