Mumb-high and mighty

Sunrisers bundled out for 118 as Mumbai bowlers dictate terms.

Mumbai: After the early setbacks of losing premier fast bowlers Billy Stanlake for the remaining part of IPL and Bhuvneshwar Kumar for the game, Sunrisers Hyderabad needed an inspirational batting performance against Mumbai Indians in IPL11 here on Tuesday. But the visitors came up with a dreadful show as they posted 118, the lowest score of the season, in 18.4 overs here on Tuesday after being put in by Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma.

Hyderabad could never recover after Mitchell McClenaghan jolted them with two wickets. Hardik Pandya was sharp while Mayank Markande continued to be among the wickets. Mumbai mentor Sachin Tendulkar, who celebrated his 45th birthday on Tuesday, lapped up his bowlers' stellar show.

The visitors lost wickets at regular intervals leaving Yusuf Pathan stranded at one end. Pathan (29 off 33 ball) hit the first six of the match in the 19th over before being caught at long on by Hardik.

Skipper Kane Williamson got SRH going with two boundaries through covers in the opening over from Jasprit Bumrah. Shikhar Dhawan who returned to the side after injury, hit a boundary in the next over before seeking physio’s attention for a hit on his knee. McClenaghan cleaned him up the next ball. Wriddhiman Saha fell in the same over as visitors were reduced to 20/2 in two overs.

Manish Pandey looked good in a 11-ball 16 before Hardik sent him back to the dug-out. Shakib Al Hasan was run out leaving Williamson frustrated at the other end.

SRH were 51/4 after six overs.
