Mumbai: Indian skipper Virat Kohli is just 37 runs away from adding another world record in his arsenal. Kohli, who became the fastest player to reach 11,000 ODI runs in this World Cup, will be aiming to become the fastest player to score 20,000 international runs.

India will face West Indies in their next match of ICC World Cup 2019 at Old Trafford, Manchester.

Kohli has currently gathered 19,963 runs in his international career and he will become the 12th batsman to achieve the feat of scoring 20,000 ODI runs.

He will also become the third Indian after Sachin Tendulkar(34,357 runs) and Rahul Dravid (24,208 runs) to reach this milestone.

Kohli, who has 11087 runs in ODIs, 6613 in Tests and 2263 in T20Is, will become the fastest to reach the landmark overtaking Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara. Both Tendulkar and Lara had taken 453 innings to complete 20,000 international runs.

However, Kohli has played only 416 innings so far-- 131 in Tests, 223 in ODIs and 62 in T20Is.

The 30-year-old has been in sublime form in the current World Cup and has scored three half-centuries in the mega-event against Australia, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Kohli, who has scored 66 tons in his illustrious international career is yet to score a ton in the ongoing World Cup 2019.

India will lock horns against West Indies on June 27. Although the rain forced players inside for a net practice session on Tuesday, the conditions look favourable ahead of the match on Thursday.
