'KKR has been the worst fielding team so far,' says Andre Russell
London: Kolkata Knight Riders' all-rounder Andre Russell has cited bad decisions and poor fielding as reasons for his team's difficulty to win games in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).
“We have a good team. But having a good team and making bad decisions, I think you will always lose games. And that's what we've been doing,” ESPN Cricinfo quoted Russell, as saying.
“We get the totals that we should defend, and we should restrict teams to lesser totals and go in and get those runs. And we don't really take our catches, we've been the worst fielding team so far. It's plain on TV, everyone's seeing it,” he added.
Russell has amassed 406 runs in this season of IPL and has eight wickets to his name. However, his team is unable to win matches and after losing to Rajasthan Royals, on Thursday, KKR are on a six-match losing streak.
Despite team’s dismal run, Russell has shown confidence in his batting abilities and said he is not afraid of any bowler rather bowlers are scared of him.
“I never fear any bowler. Never. Bowlers fear me! I'm not bragging or anything,” Russell said with a laugh.
KKR will now face Mumbai Indians on April 28 and will aim to break their losing streak.
