On Sir Don Bradman's anniversary Sachin Tendulkar pays tribute

On the occasion of Bradman's 111th birth anniversary, Tendulkar took to Twitter to show his admiration of the legend.

Mumbai: Sir Don Bradman was one of the greatest cricketers this world had ever seen, if not the greatest. His career batting average of 99.94 is a feat that no one was able to emulate. Sachin Tendulkar, who has emulated almost all of Don Bradman’s feats, is also considered to be one of the greatest cricketers along with Bradman.

On the occasion of Bradman’s 111th birth anniversary, Tendulkar took to Twitter to show his admiration of the legend. He shared a photo and wrote, “A lot of people remember Sir Don Bradman for his extraordinary batting; I remember him more for his graciousness and sense of humour that I experienced when I had the privilege of spending some time with him in 1998.”

Sachin was invited by Bradman to his house along with Shane Warne during India’s tour of Australia in 1998-99. In an interview, Don Bradman shared his view on Sachin, he said, “I saw him playing on television and was struck by his technique, so I asked my wife to come look at him. Now I never saw myself play, but I feel that this player is playing much the same as I used to play, and she looked at him on Television and said yes, there is a similarity between the two… his compactness, technique, stroke production… it all seemed to gel,”

Don Bradman lived a long and healthy life and passed away on 25th February 2001, aged 92.
