Trolls blame Kohli for Spurs loss
Mumbai: Injuries aren’t Virat Kohli’s only worries at the moment as the Indian cricket team captain landed in trouble again after Tottenham Hotspur lose to Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League final.
The player, considered to be one of the best batsmen in the cricket world is regarded by many as a curse outside cricket. Kohli is a fan of various sports and the individuals and teams he supports coincidentally often happen to end up on the losing side.
The theory solidified when Kohli supported Germany at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia last year when he posted a picture wearing a German jersey.
The Germans lost 2-0 to South Korea and had to pack their bags for home in what was a decisive match that should've been a sure win for the 2014 World Champions.
Now after Tottenham’s 2-0 loss after a terrific Champions League run to the finals, Kohli is under the crosshairs again after an Instagram post by Tottenham striker Harry Kane surfaced, featuring a picture with Kohli.
Kane himself wasn’t in the best form in the final game and couldn’t contribute much to the team, drawing further speculation on the mysterious coincidences. Trolls were quick to pick up on the subject and many tweets and memes have since gone viral on the web.
