UEFA Champions League: Ronaldo edges out Messi to win best goal

Mumbai: Juventus player Cristiano Ronaldo brought fans high hopes when he joined the Italian side back in June 2018. Though their Champion’s league campaign didn’t really make it to the trophy past the quarter-finals, the Portuguese player did manage to edge FC Barcelona rival Lionel Messi to win the best goal of the season.

The goal itself was a brilliant touch that directed a swift long ball from behind the player straight to the back of the net.

While Lionel Messi didn’t win the best goal, he did manage to score twice as many goals as Ronaldo and grabbed the Golden Boot, finding the net 12 times throughout Barcelona’s run in the competition.
