ISL 4: Bengaluru look to dominate Dynamos at home
Bengaluru: Following their 2-0 win over Mumbai City FC on ISL debut, Bengaluru FC will be looking to repeat that dominance at home against Delhi Dynamos at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium here on Sunday.
The Blues picked up three points in a convincing display against Mumbai, while the Dynamos defeated FC Pune City 3-2 away.
For coach Albert Roca, the performance last week was adequate, but the Spaniard said they needed to tighten up their game and underlined that the Blues were very much a work in progress.
“I am not happy with the performance in the first game. It’s not just the win, we need to see how we go about the game. Everyone likes to win, but I want them to win after dominating,” the 55-year-old coach said, demanding slicker play from the two-time I-League champions.
Roca will be banking on his frontline of Miku, Sunil Chettri and Udanta Singh to be more clinical from open play.
With three consecutive away fixtures next, Bengaluru FC will want to consolidate their place atop the table.
Dynamos coach Miguel Angel Portugal will also demand similar qualities from his side, after conceding two goals in the second half in their win against Pune.
“They (BFC) play the way I like because Albert Roca is a good coach and we play similar styles. Ball possession is definitely not very easy because Bengaluru go fight for that. But I think that’s a good philosophy,” said the 61-year-old.
In Kolkata, defending champions ATK will look to kickstart their home leg with victory against FC Pune City at the Salt Lake Stadium on Sunday
