Nisha nets two in India Rush win

After switching ends, Deepika Singh increased India Rush's lead, scoring the third in the 46th minute.

India Rush SC produced a solid, spirited performance to overcome a fighting Kenkre FC by a close 3-2 margin in an absorbing match of the pre-qualifying round (Maharashtra leg), of the IWL (Indian Women’s League). The match took place at the Cooperage ground on Monday.

Settling down quickly, India Rush started in dominant fashion and created quite a number of chances from the start. They did not take too long to open the scoring when Nisha Singh found the back of the net in the seventh minute and doubled the lead with another fine strike four minutes later as India Rush went into the break with a healthy 2-0 cushion.

After switching ends, Deepika Singh increased India Rush’s lead, scoring the third in the 46th minute. Despite trailing 0-3, Kenkre managed to reduce the deficit with two late strikes through Zinnia Devi in the 56th minute and Dorothi Oreya in the 73rdminute.

Results: India Rush 3 (Nisha Singh 2, Deepika Singh) beat Kenkre FC 2 (Zinnia Devi, Dorothi Oreya).
