Shinde casts a magical spell on Day 1
A brilliant bowling spell from medium pacer Santosh Shinde put Mumbai Police Gymkhana in a commanding position against Islam Gymkhana in an opening Group-C league match on the opening day of the 71st Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament 2018 at the Police Gymkhana ground on Saturday.
After putting Islam Gymkhana in to bat first, Shinde with his quick pace unsettled the opposition batsmen and picked wickets at regular intervals to dismiss them for a paltry 118 in 36.3 overs. Osama Parkar with a 43 run knock was the top-scorer for Islam Gymkhana.
In reply, Mumbai Police have managed to score 71 runs for the loss of one wicket when stumps were called at the end of the first day play.
