Mumbai’s finest TT players on a game

All the teams will be playing nine different games in the group stage, for which they will be rewarded with a point for a win.

All the leading players from the city, including top players of the country, will be seen in action during the Mumbai Super League (MSL) till June 11 at National Sports Complex of India (NSCI), Worli. The tournament is organised by 11Even Sports Pvt. Ltd. under the auspices of MCDTTA and MSDTTA.

Into its third year, the four-day event will be seeing fine local players, Sanil Shetty, Nishad Shah and Madhurika Patkar.

“We are seeing an overwhelming response this year. Last year, there were eight teams, and now we have 10 teams competing. The owners have shown tremendous enthusiasm and are actively cheering for their teams,” said Abhijit Rao, one of the organiser for this event.

The 10 teams vying for the top honours will see each team comprise of six players (one each — men, women, junior boys, junior girls, cadet boys and a veteran).

All the teams will be playing nine different games in the group stage, for which they will be rewarded with a point for a win. The top four teams will advance to the semi-finals. Men from each contingent will play three matches (one singles and two doubles), women will play two matches (one singles and one doubles), Junior Boys will play two matches (one singles and onedoubles), Junior Girls will play two matches (one singles and one doubles), Cadet Boys will play one singles match, and Veterans will play two matches (one singles and one doubles). The semi-finals and final are scheduled for Sunday, June 11.
