PNB, CAG victorious

On Tuesday, Army drew with Railway Sports Promotion Board 2-2 in a Pool A match.

Punjab National Bank and Comptroller and Auditor General of India won their respective matches in the 54th Nehru senior hockey tournament at the MDC National Stadium in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Punjab National Bank defeated Air India Sports Promotion Board 1-0.

Arjun Antil converted a penalty corner to ensure victory for his side.

CAG beat National Hockey Academy 3-1 in the day’s other fixture.

CAG were ahead 2-0 at half time through Mithlesh Kumar’s fourth-minute field goal and Manish Yadav’s short corner in the 25th minute.

Mohammed Naeemuddin tripled the margin in the 51st. Shivam Anand (67th) got the lone goal for AISPB.

On Tuesday, Army drew with Railway Sports Promotion Board 2-2 in a Pool A match. Sriraju A.P. scored a brace for Army while Ajmer Singh and Raju responded for RSPB.

In another Pool A encounter, Punjab and Sind Bank drew 2-2 with Indian Air Force.

Sarvanjit Singh and Ranjodh Singh’s strikes for PSB were countered by a brace from Daman.

PNB defeated NHA 4-1 riding on Gagandeep Singh’s brace in Pool B. Shamsher Singh and Gagandeep Singh Sr were the others scorers for PNB.

Aniket Yadav scored the consolation goal for NHA.
