Mastan YMCA pips NBA in men’s final; Bandra girls bag women’s crown

Mastan YMCA pipped NBA (Nagpada Basketball Association) 77-76  in a pulsuatig men’s final of the  Mastan YMCA Basketball tournament, hosted by Bombay YMCA’s Physical Education Department  at their floodlit courts at Agripada last night.  It was the second time that NBA was involved in a rip-roaring final for the second day in a row. While earlier, in the youth boys final, NBA had triumphed  68-67 against Savio Club. However,  this time they were beaten by a solitary point by the Mastan YMCA in the men’s final.

To compound their miserable show on the final day, Mastan YMCA boys, too, outplayed them 66-51 to win the junior boys title. The only consolation for the NBA was their win in the mini boys final against Wellingdon YMCA 52-32. Pooja Ajmera led-Bandra YMCA outplayed  Dominic Savio 37-20 to bag the women’s trophy.  However, Anshika Kanojia of the Dominic Savio earned the unique honour of scoring 19 of the 20 points in her team’s defeat.
