Pullela Gopichand biopic split in two parts
For all those who have been waiting for updates on the Pullela Gopichand film, here’s an interesting new twist to the tale. Apparently, the biopic on the chief national coach of the Indian badminton team will now be presented as a two-part feature, as against just one film. While actor Sudheer Babu has been prepping to take on Gopichand’s character, Praveen Sattaru, the film’s director has been busy gathering crucial and vital information about the badminton coach.
After laying out their entire research material, the filmmakers have realised that there’s so much to cover in Gopichand’s life and it cannot all be depicted in a single film. Hence, the director, along with Fox Star Studios and Abundantia Entertainment who are bankrolling the film, have decided to make the film in two parts.
While the first part showcases Gopichand as a badminton player, the second part highlights his achievements and contributions as a coach.
A source says, “Right from the beginning of the project, director Parveen Sattaru and actor Sudheer Babu have been considering making the film in two parts. However, this matter has been a closely guarded secret. Apparently, the film unit believes that Gopichand’s life has several memorable incidents (professionally and personally) that can inspire scores of people. Since they can’t do justice to the entire story in just one part, they have decided to make it in two parts.”
The filmmakers have roped in an acclaimed Bollywood writer to make sure that the content of the film is portrayed in a gripping manner. The film is expected to go on floors in December.
