Apple Watch rival Fossil Sport 2 leaks online
After the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 leaked earlier, it’s now the turn of another Apple rival to grace the internet. The Fossil Sport 2 has surfaced which is a successor to the Fossil Sport that launched last year and it came with a lightweight design and was a strong contender for Wear OS smartwatch of the year.
The Fossil Sport was a legitimate rival to the Apple Watch although it lacked some features that made the watchOS based smartwatch edge it out. Now, the brand is back at it once more and currently being dubbed the Fossil Sport 2, it has recently received its certification from Bluetooth SIG which means that it’s almost ready for prime time.
As per a report by T3, the certification does not explicitly name the new device but it does list the development code DW10F1 which is the obviously a successor to the DW9F1 which is the Fossil Sport.
The report states, “This is the second time the code has appeared online after it was also listed by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) alongside four other smartwatches from Fossil. “
Having received its Bluetooth certification at the beginning of this month, it means that it could go into production soon.
The report goes on to state, “The other four models listed on the FCC haven't been certified by Bluetooth SIG yet, which suggests the Sport 2 could be the first model to hit the shelves.”
