Saregama's dose of retro Bollywood gadgetry

When we say a retro music player, we mean a digital music player resembling an old radio set. And, it is full of Indian songs from the days of big old radio sets; 5,000 of them. It is sold by Saregama and is called “Carvaan”, which can be yours for a sum of Rs 5,990.
The pre-loaded 5,000 songs on Carvaan have been handpicked and categorised based on singers, lyricists, music composers, moods etc. With a simple turn of a knob, one can switch from Kishore Kumar classics to R.D Burman’s hits, to timeless love songs or to soulful Sufi tracks – all in their original versions, without any advertisements. Carvaan’s music collection also includes Ameen Sayani’s Geetmala countdown collection spanning 50 years.
The Carvaan also has a built in FM Radio and the option to play your own collection through a USB drive. If you have a smartphone, then you can also stream your songs wirelessly to the player through its Bluetooth connectivity. In short, it is a fancy portable music player pre-loaded with retro songs. The player has a rechargeable battery with 5 hours of playback capability.
The Carvaan is available in two colours and can be purchased from major e-tailers and chains like Croma, Reliance Digital etc. as well as electronic and TV stores across the country from 22nd May onwards.
