A tiny, yet effecient power bank for every pocket
tnext, a new name in the Indian market, has a lot of smartphone accessories under the brand name. from USB cables to headphones and power banks to USB chargers, they seem to be offering a few, but good quality accessories.
The company recently launched a tiny power bank a few weeks ago. The power bank is a simple and compact and a very efficient smartphone accessory. The USP of the tnext is its compact design and dual connector for Android and iOS smartphones.
The tnext sports a single colour design with a rubberised casing and available in Blue, Black, White and Orange, to suit your style. It sports an internal battery capacity of 4000mAh with an output of 5V @ 2.1A. It weighs just 95g and is 83x59x12.5mm (WxHxD) in dimensions.
The power bank charges in around 4 hours completely and can recharge an iPhone 6S to full charge in just half an hour, and still have enough charge for another 25 per cent (approx) refill.
As for the USP, the power bank has a single protruding connector that features two connectors — a Lightning port and a micro USB port. You can use either connector to charge your phone, depending on the handset model. Apart from the non-detachable cable, the power bank has a micro USB port for charging itself. Four tiny blue LEDs are available on the front, along with a button for highlighting the present status of the battery capacity that shows from zero to 100 per cent.
The power bank is simple to operate, but has a few design limitations, that could be an issue in the long run. Firstly, the cable is not-detachable and non-user replaceable. In case the cable is damaged, you cannot change it yourself, and would have to discard the power bank itself. Secondly, the power bank has just two connectors, one for Android and the other for iPhone. With USB Type-C connectors soon becoming a norm, the power bank can soon become obsolete to the user. Also, the lack of a regular USB port for output also limits the user to use their charging cable. Lastly, the charging port has a micro USB connector, which would be an issue for iPhone users, since the tnext does not come along with its own charger. However, it does include a small micro USB power cable for charging, but an iPhone user would have to carry this along with him too.
The tnext power bank is a good must-have accessory for smartphone users and we would recommend one of these for your daily travel. The power bank is pretty compact and definitely won’t add up to your backpack’s weight or size. However, for the selling price of Rs 2,975 the tnext seems a bit too expensive, as compared to rival brands out there. However, do keep in mind the highly compact size and the dual power connectivity cable which will allow you to keep your phone’s original cable at home. The power bank can be purchased from tnext’s website for a discounted price of Rs 2,575.
