Would you fancy a bendable Lenovo laptop?

The company claims that you can bend your laptop like a yoga mat in the near future.

Lenovo is known for bringing innovation to the compact and portable computing market. Their Yoga series of laptops can achieve incredible levels of flip angles, making them perfect for use as a tablet when required. They also showcased and launched the Yoga Book last year with an all touch interface for the keyboard and trackpad panel that doubled as an electronic drawing pad for smart pens. Now though, the company has shown off a concept that it intends to use for its future laptop line-up – bendable laptop.

At first, it may not sound something revolutionary, given that smartphone manufacturers have shown off working prototypes earlier. But, doing the same for a laptop is different as the screen size is bigger and has more pixels to render. Lenovo’s concept allows the user to bend the screen right from the top edge of the keyboard. There’s no hinge in between the screen and the keyboard; you fold open the screen to use the laptop and fold it down when you are done with it. The keyboard seems to be lifted off from a Lenovo ThinkPad PC along with a thin palm rest.

However, Lenovo thinks that while the concept looks and sounds amazing, it isn’t possible for the company to make it into reality at the moment. They think that the display technology needs to be improved, along with ‘advanced materials’ to make bendable laptops that are as practical as the ones we use in the present. But, we must remember that the concept is shown by Lenovo, who have the resources and the expertise to pull off such concepts, as evident from the futuristic Yoga Book that hasn’t seen any proper competition on its level till now.
