Bose launches Apple AirPods rival
Apple has managed to change the way we look at headphones with the advent of its AirPods. Whether you like it or not, the company has made a simple thing like earphones capable of doing more then just playing your favourite tunes.
Since the launch of AirPods the competition for bringing a true wireless headphone to the market has become fierce. The latest entrant in the field is the Bose SoundSport Free, which is a true-wireless version of its predecessor. On of the welcomed feature here are rubberised cups to hold the buds securely, something missing from the AirPods.
As the name suggests, the SoundSports are specifically build for sporting during rigorous exercise or gyming sessions. They are water and sweat resistant and claim to offer up to 5 hours of music playback. It also has a ‘Find My Buds’ feature to locate your Bose earphones, similar to the one seen on AirPods.
The earphones also come with a charging case that can juice your pair on the go. The company claims that a fully charged case can provide up to extra ten hours of charge.
Unlike the AirPods, the SoundSport Free has buttons on the headphones themselves so users can make calls without using their phone.
The SoundSport Free are available for pre-orders but it won’t start shipping until October. It is priced at $249.99, which is almost $90 costlier than the AirPods.
